Brendan Rodgers must axe Leigh Griffiths if he wants to field his best possible Celtic side against Hibernian at Parkhead on Saturday.

Griffiths, 28, has been in woefully bad form with just one Scottish Premiership goal to his name this season despite playing in every single league fixture. He must now be dropped after even failing to find the net in the 6-0 win against St Johnstone.

Rodgers should also make two other changes to bring in Mikael Lustig and Olivier Ntcham, who have also been in pretty poor form as of late, both dropping out of the starting line-up.

Craig Gordon must start in goals behind a back-four of Cristian Gamboa, who should come in to replace Lustig, Dedryck Boyata, Filip Benkovic and Kieran Tierney.

Scott Brown could be available after missing the McDiarmid Park rout through injury, so he must return to the midfield with Youssouf Mulumbu also coming back in over out-of-sorts Ntcham.

Celtic’s attack was on fire against the Saints, and they will be again this weekend if Rodgers opts to play James Forrest on the right-wing, Callum McGregor on the left and Tom Rogic in the central attacking midfield role.

Odsonne Edouard has been in much better form that Griffiths lately, even though the Scot remains a key player at Parkhead, so he should get the nod to start up front on his own.
