OPINION
The longer that Rabiot’s contract stalemate with PSG is not resolved, the more intense the speculation around his future. Spurs fans will certainly be excited that their club are seemingly in discussions with the midfielder’s camp. He can be secured on a pre-contract agreement in the January window, because he is out of contract next summer. Given that Transfermarkt value Rabiot currently at £45million, he would be a remarkably shrewd signing for Tottenham or any of his other suitors. The 23-year-old is a key player for one of Europe’s outstanding teams and has the potential to get even better when he hits his peak years. Tall, powerful, technically excellent, blessed with a range of long and short passing, and able to glide between boxes, Rabiot already has excellent experience under his belt and knows what it’s like to win. With Mousa Dembele out of contract next summer, the Frenchman would be the perfect replacement.
