OPINION
These Tottenham fans are certainly impressed with Davies’ performance against Ireland, and particularly his cross-field pass for Bale to score Wales’ second. It was indeed a beauty of a pass from the 25-year-old flyer, who weighted the ball perfectly for Bale to bring down. The Real Madrid star still had a lot to do as he cut inside and curled past Darren Randolph, but the pass was inch-perfect to set him up. All in all it was a solid display from Davies, who looked comfortable at the back. Admittedly, this Ireland side did not push the Wales defence too hard, and Davies will have tougher tests to come. Their next match is against Denmark on Sunday, and with the Danish pay dispute now over, Davies will likely be coming up against Tottenham teammate Christian Eriksen in Aarhus. Until then, he can sleep easy after an accomplished display which will give him confidence heading into Sunday and beyond.
