Chelsea youngster Ethan Ampadu starred for Wales as they strolled to a comprehensive 4-1 win over the Republic of Ireland in the UEFA Nations League on Thursday, and many Blues fans on Twitter have been blown away by the 19-year-old enforcer.
Tom Lawrence opened the scoring for Wales before goals from Gareth Bale, Aaron Ramsey and Callum Roberts sealed the win, with Shaun Williams netting a consolation for Ireland.
Ampadu was deployed in midfield by Wales boss Ryan Giggs and put in a stellar performance, with many Chelsea fans calling on the youngster to be given first-team minutes soon after his display.

OPINION
These Chelsea fans are obviously very impressed and extremely excited by Ampadu’s display for Wales, and it is easy to see why. The young enforcer absolutely bossed the midfield for Ryan Giggs’ side as they romped to a simple win that got their UEFA Nations League campaign well and truly up and running. Ampadu was dominating the central positions against players with far more experience than him, and hopefully he can back this up with another good display against Denmark on Sunday. This really was a coming of age performance from the Chelsea starlet, and one that will no doubt have turned heads at Stamford Bridge. Maurizio Sarri will be well aware of Ampadu’s qualities, but such a display will really drive that home for the Italian mastermind. While it may be a push to suggest Ampadu will play regularly for Chelsea in the coming months, he will no doubt be handed a chance to shine in one of the cup competitions.
