Opinion
Pickford has been one of, if not the, most consistent performer for Everton since the start of last season – picking up numerous in-club awards for his displays – and it appears as though the Toffees have decided to reward his form with a new long term deal. The supporters are absolutely right to be celebrating the news too, for it is great heading into the future. He is a proven talent for both club and country and the more he grows and develops, the more money he will be worth. Having him tied down means that if someone else comes sniffing around, they will have to fork out a significant fee to take him away from Goodison Park, and if that is the case, then at least Everton have cash in the bank to source a quality replacement. This is one of the most important deals the Toffees could have pulled off and the rave reviews from fans is well warranted.
