A section of West Brom fans have torn into defender Ahmed Hegazi for his performance in the 2-1 defeat to Bolton at The Hawthorns on Saturday afternoon.
Hegazi, 27, was nowhere to be seen when Josh Magennis opened the scoring for Bolton in the first half and continued to frustrate the home crowd throughout the 90 minutes as he missed several chances to score for himself at the other end of the pitch.
The Egypt international has reportedly been attracting attention this summer, with ESPN claiming that Newcastle United and Brighton are both interested in signing him.
And it seems that some West Brom fans would not mind cashing in on the centre-back, with one telling the club to “get rid” of him.

Things we have learnt so far today…
1. Nyom & Hegazi shouldn’t be in this league – they’re not good enough
2. Barnes has HUGE potential
3. We NEED strikers asap #wba— Gemma Downes (@gemmadowneswba) August 4, 2018
Looks like we need to spend and get some good loans in,this team isn’t good enough. Get rid of hegazi and HRK at the very least #suspectdefending

Can’t complain… we have been the better side… we seriously need a striker that knows where the net is… also defence with Nyom and Hegazi In doesn’t look the best. Seriously need a proven Right back

OPINION
Darren Moore only named three new players in his starting line-up even though many were expecting a major overhaul of the first team over the summer. Hegazi was one player who many would have hoped would have left, even though he definitely divides opinion among the West Brom fans. However against Bolton, everyone seemed in agreement that the Egypt international wasn’t good enough. He failed to impress in the Premier League and now he has had a shocker against Bolton, who are being tipped for relegation. We are into the final week of the transfer window now and it may be too late to get rid of the centre-back.
