A section of Tottenham fans have been reacting on Twitter after it was reported that the club has tabled a bid worth £35.9million for Inter Milan star Marcelo Brozovic.
Croatian newspaper Sportske Novosti has reported that Inter have rejected Spurs’ offer for the Inter playmaker, even though he wants to quit the Serie A giants this summer.
It is understood that the 25-year-old Croatia international has a £44.9million release clause tied into his deal at the San Siro, and Spurs would more than likely have to match that in order to pry him away from Italy.
As Tottenham are yet to complete a single signing this summer, fans are not happy with chairman Daniel Levy and have urged him to simply meet Brozovic’s release clause instead of tabling bids that are never going to be accepted.

OPINION
It’s not hard to understand the frustration of these Tottenham fans. In the world of football, the difference between Spurs’ bid and Brozovic’s release clause is minuscule and he is a player that will without doubt improve the quality of Mauricio Pochettino’s squad. It would be a joke if Spurs were to end the summer transfer window without making a single signing. They need to win silverware and they are not going to if they fail to improve the squad. Brozovic would be a top class addition, but it really does not seem as though it’s going to happen. Jack Grealish may not even be heading to Spurs either at this rate.
