Eros Grezda completed his Rangers medical in Glasgow on Tuesday night and is set to complete a £1.8m move ahead of Sunday’s game against Celtic, according to the Scottish Sun.

The report says that Grezda’s release clause was activated and now the clubs are negotiating a sell-on clause for the 23-year-old.

Osijek president Ivan Mestrovic confirmed the move saying, “Osijek will sell the player. Not because we need to, but because he wants it.

“The ambitions of Osijek obviously remain great, but it is difficult to resist the rich offers of large clubs.”

OPINION
Lucky 13 for Gerrard as Eros Grezda becomes the 13th new recruit of a very busy summer. It’s good timing that the very first Old Firm clash of the season will come after Rangers have completed all their business, and Gerrard is looking for one more to make it 14 before the final deadline on Friday. Gerrard wants it to be Joe Worrall from Nottingham Forest, but the proposed loan move is far from agreed. He would be a signifiant scalp though and would definitely strengthen the Rangers defence. Meanwhile, the Old Firm clash on Sunday is one of the most eagerly-anticipated in some years. Celtic have forged ahead in the league after Rangers dropped another two points at the weekend after conceding a late goal to Motherwell. But a win for Rangers would really put the cat among the pigeons.
