Adama Traore will finally become a Wolves player tomorrow with the drawn-out deal set to be concluded on Tuesday, according to a reliable journalist.

Tim Spiers, the Wolves correspondent for the Express & Star, revealed that the fee is £18million, which is the release clause for the player.

That suggests the fee will be paid up front after Wolves had reportedly tried to pay in instalments.

Sky Sports had reported that the fee could rise to over £20million with £10million being paid up front.

Good deal for Wolves?

If it gets done for £18million it’s a really good deal. More and more deals might be getting done in instalments in the Premier League, but if it puts an extra £2million on the player’s price then surely that’s not the best for the buying club? Wolves must be better off paying the release clause and saving £2million+, and they seem to have come to this conclusion and the £18million release clause looks like it’s been triggered. Once the deal is officially announced, Wolves can get on with looking forward to the start of their Premier League campaign against Everton at Molineux on Saturday evening.

Like to happen?

This one will get announced tomorrow by the sounds of it. Spiers is a solid source of Wolves information and it looks like both clubs have come to an agreement on how much and precisely how the fee will get paid. Middlesbrough sell a player for almost treble what they bought him for two years ago. And Wolves get an attacker who can finally live up to his promise in the Premier League. That’s what you call win/win/win.
