Wolves are in talks to sign teenage defender John Kitolano, according to Varden.

The Norweigan outlet claims in the Monday edition of their newspaper that there have been dialogue between Wolves and Kitolano’s parent club Odds BK for the 18-year-old left-back.

The newspaper included a quote from Odd club director Einar Handlykken and also the player’s agent, who revealed that they won’t be extending his contract, which ends in December.

“If we get a sale to Wolverhampton, then it’s good for us. No, we have not received a concrete bid, but there’s been dialogue.” Handlykken told the newspaper, as translated by Sport Witness.

“We have informed Odd that John will never extend the contract with the club. Nothing has happened since Friday,’ the player’s agent told the newspaper, as translated by Sport Witness.

“First, the clubs must agree. If they do not, John will be at Odd until December 31st.”

Good signing for Wolves?

Hard to say, it’s a very obscure player.

The 18-year-old must be a good talent if Wolves are looking to sign him, it just shows how good the Midlands club’s scouts are at finding players if they’re looking at Norweigan clubs for talented youngsters.

With the left-back’s contract expiring, he wouldn’t cost a big fee, so there’s little risk to the club if he turns out to be not a good signing.

They may as well sign him and allow him to develop, then see what he’s capable of.

Likely to happen?

Yes.

With the youngster’s contract due to expire at the end of the year, his parent club hasn’t really got a lot of power in this transfer as his agent has reportedly confirmed that they won’t be extending his deal.

This open’s the door for Wolves who can either snap him up now or wait and get him for free in the January window

Either way, this transfer looks likely to happen at some point in the next six months.
