Wolves may turn their attentions elsewhere in their hunt for a new attacker after failing in a move for Middlesbrough’s Adama Traore during the final week of the transfer window, according to journalist Tim Spiers.

The Express and Star writer claims on his personal Twitter account that there are other options which the Molineux outfit are eyeing up after seeing their attempts to take the 22-year-old from the Riverside end unsuccessfully, although the Boro man is said to still be an option.

Wing wizard Traore chipped in with 12 assists for his team mates last season, and Spiers has previously reported that Middlesbrough will not let him go for less than his £18million release clause.

Opinion

There is not much time left for Nuno Esperito Santo to add to his squad ahead of their return to the Premier League and although Wolves are looking well equipped in most areas, it is the flanks in which there is a weakness. They could seriously do with some creative flair on either side of the striker and that is exactly why they have been targeting Traore for so long, having dazzled for Boro in the Championship. Of course, making the step up from the second tier to England’s top flight is no easy feat and the midlands outfit are right to have doubts over whether he is worth the money being asked for by the north east side. Who else they have on their short list, only those at Molineux will know, but considering how the summer has gone so far, fans should be very excited that there could be another face or two through the door before summer is up and the season begins.
