A section of Celtic fans have been raving over the performance of Tom Rogic on Twitter after he started in the 2-1 loss against AEK Athens on Tuesday night.
Rogic, 25, saw a lot of the ball for the Bhoys up until the point he was substituted off in the second-half as he failed to last 90 minutes yet again.
Some Hoops fans were left blown away by his display on social media, even though he played a role in a hammer blow of a defeat, with one saying that he was “unbelievable”.

OPINION
Rogic was not as good as these Celtic fans claim he was. While the Australia international showed glimpses of his quality technical abilities, they were too few and far between and at times it looked as though he was just trying too hard. Rogic has only started one Champions League qualifier game this season which was the first leg against AEK Athens, and there’s a good chance that Brendan Rodgers will give his spot in the side some serious thought after an uninspired performance in the Greek capital. Maybe the playmaker lost some momentum after he was rested against Hearts? He had started against AEK and Livingston before that, even scoring in the Scottish Premiership opener. However he just got 20 minutes off the bench in the defeat to Hearts at the weekend and that could have had some kind of impact on his performance. It’s hard to put a finger on it, but while some fans though he was quality in Greece, we don’t.
