A section of Tottenham fans have taken to Twitter to discuss the possibility of the club hijacking Everton’s reported pursuit of Colombia World Cup star Yerry Mina.
Goal claim the Merseysiders are in talks with Barcelona about signing the giant centre-back and could seal the deal within the next week after tabling a £21million bid.
Some Spurs supporters are convinced the 23-year-old, who scored for Colombia in their penalty shoot-out defeat to England on Tuesday night, would be a fine signing for them.

I doubt Barcelona will want to sell him. Loan maybe but not sell. Pique will need replacment soon.

Aside from his moaning and stropping against England, I agree. His positional play was good, read the game well and was committed. Haven’t seen him play for Barcelona; I guess there is a reason they don’t want him.
I think Poch sees Foyth as the future partner for Sanchez though.— sparrow_jrs (@sparrow_jrs) July 5, 2018
Him and davinson for the future could be absolute quality

OPINION
Those Spurs fans bowled over by Mina are spot on. He is already a might fine centre-back with the potential to be an outstanding one. He has failed to hold down a regular place in the Barcelona side since arriving from Palmeiras, but there is no shame in that given the competition for places. Gerard Pique and Samuel Umtiti are the regular centre-back pair for Barca, and the latter has just signed a lucrative new contract as reward for his excellent 2017-18 campaign for the club. Mina has looked every bit as good as Umtiti at the World Cup and certainly superior to Pique, who is 31 and starting to look it as he creaks across the pitch. Mina would be a brilliant signing for any Premier League outfit, including Everton or Spurs. Little wonder some Tottenham fans are casting envious glances towards Merseyside.
