A section of Leeds United fans have reacted with mixed verdicts after the club agreed to loan out youngster Alejandro Machuca for the upcoming season.
United have revealed on their official website that the wide forward, 20, has joined Spanish side Burgos CF on a season-long loan deal.
This has prompted some fans to claim the move is perfect for the player’s development, while others claim he should have gone to an English club, and a few have bemoaned the lack of first-team arrivals.

Still better than Dev teams football bit like Wilks he’s gone to 3rd division in England along with Coyle plus it allows for the under 18s to step up to the dev team

Great let’s start concentrating on loaning out the infamous under 23’s instead of recruiting to the first team Absolute shambles

COMMENTARY:
Some Leeds fans are disappointed that Muchaca has headed to Spain rather than continue his development in the English lower leagues. That is a fair point, and raises question marks as to whether the youngster is having adaptation issues in England, and if he has the fortitude to make it at his parent club. Certainly, the wide forward is a real talent and caught the eye with some impressive performance for the Leeds Under-23s in the second half of last season. Carlos Corberan’s outfit improved beyond recognition in 2017-18 after years of treading water at age-group level. Certainly, playing in Spain’s third tier is a better option than academy football for Muchaca, who needs to test himself after grizzled pros. It could be a smart move if he gets the regular football he needs.
