Everton are ready to sell Yannick Bolasie to fund a mega offer for his former Crystal Palace teammate Wilfried Zaha, according to the Daily Mail.

The newspaper claim the Merseysiders are willing to test the market for the sale of Bolasie as they look to put together an offer for Zaha amid competition from Tottenham and Borussia Dortmund.

The Mail report new manager Marco Silva is keen to make the Palace forward his first Everton signing but the Londoners have slapped a £70million asking price on their prize asset.

Good move for Everton?

Given that summer-of-2016 big money signing Bolasie made little impact last season after returning from a year on the sidelines, he would not be a huge miss were he to be sold. The 29-year-old speed machine once matched Zaha trick for trick at Selhurst Park, but the younger man has gone to a completely different level in the last two years. Zaha would be a brilliant signing for any Premier League club – and that includes Manchester City – due to his rare ability to carry the ball forward and beat them with pace and skill. He has also got an increasingly good eye for goal and thrived in a new centre-forward role at the end of last season.

Likely to happen?

In truth, not really. Zaha is a player in demand after virtually keeping Palace up singlehandedly last season. He has added greater consistency to his game in recent years and is developing into an outstanding forward who frightens the life out of even very good defenders. Everton can’t really compete with the clout of Champions League regulars Spurs and Dortmund for such a gifted player, even if they could afford him.
