Wolves defender Roderick Miranda has left the club’s pre-season tour squad in Switzerland ahead of wrapping up a season-long loan move to Greek giants Olympiakos, according to Express and Star reporter Tim Spiers.

The reliable journalist claimed on his personal Twitter account on Tuesday that the 27-year-old left Wolves’ training camp on Monday night as his team-mates prepare for the upcoming Premier League season.

Miranda was signed by Wolves from Rio Ave in June 2017, and is just one year into a four-year deal at Molineux.

It is understood he cost the club £2.5million last year.

Good move for Wolves?

Miranda dropped down Nuno Espirito Santo’s pecking order after defeat to QPR in October, appearing just three times in the Championship between then and the end of last season.

Before that, he was ever-present, starting all of the club’s league games.

However he is clearly not good enough and his performance on the final day of the season in the 3-0 defeat to relegated Sunderland showed that Nuno must get rid of him this summer.

It’s a shame the deal is not permanent, but it should get him off the wagebill.

Likely to happen?

Wolves would not have let him leave their training camp in Switzerland if this deal was not bound to go through, otherwise it would have been a massive waste of time for everyone.

Hopefully Miranda can improve his form and transfer value while in Greece, because it looks like his days at Molineux are over.
