Tottenham negotiating loan exit for Janssen

Tottenham are in negotiations with Fenerbahce for striker Vincent Janssen to head to Istanbul on a second temporary deal, according to A Spor.

The Turkish news outlet claims that the two sides are currently miles apart in their negotiations over a seven-figure loan fee, with Spurs wanting £5.3million, while Fenerbahce are only willing to pay £1.7million for a season-long deal.

The 24-year-old outcast was shipped out on loan by Spurs last summer for a fee said to be worth £4.4million and statistics website Spotrac reports that the Dutch international earns £34,000-a-week in his current deal in North London.

Good move for Tottenham?

Spurs either need to sell Janssen permanently or give him another chance to be back-up to Harry Kane.

Fernando Llorente was snapped up by Mauricio Pochettino last summer to replace Janssen as the second-choice forward, but if anything he proved that the Netherlands international was not actually that bad.

The only reason Janssen failed to score for Spurs is because almost all of his appearances were off the bench.

Is it a good move to send him out on loan to Turkey again? It could increase his value and the likelihood of a permanent transfer next year, but it could be a bit of a waste of time again as it was last season.

Likely to happen?

In an interview with Dutch news outlet NOS, Janssen has hinted that he would consider rejoining Fenerbahce because he has unfinished business, but Spurs’ hardline stance in negotiations could see his short-term plans fall apart.

Daniel Levy will want the most money possible for a season-long loan and asking Fenerbahce for a fee higher than what they paid last term is a bit odd.
