Real Madrid star Gareth Bale is the most likely player to sign for Tottenham next, according to Football Whispers.
The football news site claims that Bale, 28, is in line to make a shock return to North London this summer, five years after leaving to join Madrid, where he has since won four Champions League titles.
Football Whispers gathers transfer rumours from around the world and rates the chances of them happening out of five and it is understood that there is a 3.5 in 5 chance that Bale will be the next signing that Spurs make this summer.

It would certainly be a shock to see Bale return to Tottenham this transfer window, especially after his heroics helped Real Madrid beat Liverpool in the Champions League final last season. Ever since moving to Spain it seems that Bale is getting linked with a move back to England to play for Spurs, but it’s just extremely hard to see it happening. He has never seemed as happy playing for Los Blancos as he did with Spurs, but surely the financial aspects of any deal would see this become almost impossible for the Premier League club. It would be some signing though. Bale is the kind of player who can transform Spurs into serious title challengers. Just imagine where they would be now if they managed to keep a hold of him. Football Whispers says there’s a good chance he will be the next player to be signed up by Pochettino, but it just does not seem likley. Sorry, Spurs fans.
