Leeds United are willing to meet the demands of Juventus in their pursuit of striker Moise Kean to beat Monaco to his signing, according to Calcio Mercato.

The Italian football website reports that the Whites are willing to insert a buy-back clause in any deal that could be negotiated with the Serie A outfit for their 18-year-old forward, with fellow suitors Monaco, who finished second in Ligue 1 last season, refusing to do so.

The buy-back clause would allow Juventus to re-sign the young attacker in a few years’ time for a particular price, giving them the edge over any potential suitors in the future. The youngster netted four goals in Italy’s top flight in the 2017/2018 campaign – the first person born after 2000 to do so.

The prospect that Leeds may have just gained momentum in their pursuit of Moise Kean is sure to be music to their fans’ ears. The supporters have been growing increasingly frustrated with the club’s transfer activity after only making two signings so far in the shapes of Lewis Baker and Leif Davis, and this news may have just reinvigorated their hopes of a successful transfer window. The fact the Whites are willing to negotiate with Juventus goes to show that the club may have the edge in acquiring their third signing of the summer, which can only get the ball rolling for more.  Despite only scoring four goals last season, Kean is an exciting prospect for Leeds as he is only 18-years-old, and he is only going to get better and better should he arrive in the Championship. He may not be the major marquee signing that the Leeds’ faithful were looking for, but he certainly is a step in the right direction.
