Wolves are in the hunt to sign Manchester United defender Marcus Rojo, according to the Independent.

The news outlet claims that United are willing to offload Rojo, 28, due to his increasingly worrying injury record, and Premier League newboys Wolves are interested in taking him off their hands.

Rojo signed for the Red Devils in 2014 in a deal worth £16million from Sporting CP and statistics website Spotrac has reported that the Argentina international earns £110,000-a-week on his deal at Old Trafford.

Good move for Wolves?

Rojo has made 107 appearances across all competitions for Man United since signing for them in 2014, and season by season it appears that the centre-backs time on the pitch is becoming increasingly reduced.

He only played 12 times last season, but returned to fitness in time to play for Argentina at the World Cup.

Would he be a good signing for Wolves? Absolutely, but only if he can stay fit because that is a huge concern about the former Sporting CP star.

Nuno Espirito Santo has decent centre-back options, but they could be improved upon.

Signing Rojo could be a risk worth taking.

Likely to happen?

Man United appear willing to cash in on Rojo in order to free up spaces in the squad and as Wolves are always likely to continue strengthening their squad, it all adds up.

Wolves are not short of cash and Rojo could be willing to join the increasing amount of top quality talent at Molineux.

Their interest does not seem too advanced at this stage though, but once they make some solid advances for the United player then the deal will become much more likely.
