West Brom playmaker Nacer Chadli is the most likely next player to sign for Wolves, according to Football Whispers.

The football news site claims that Chadli, 28, is firmly in the running to cross the Black Country divide this summer after a stunning World Cup performance with Belgium in which he scored one goal and supplied one assist as his nation finished in third place.

The Telegraph claims that Chadli has a release clause worth £17million that has been activated since the Baggies were relegation from the Premier League last season.

Football Whispers rounds up transfer rumours from across the world of football and rates the likelihood of them coming true. Chadli’s move to Wolves is rated at 3.4 out of 5, better than any other player in the running to head to Molineux this summer.

OPINION

While Chadli did have a brilliant World Cup campaign with Belgium, he has not exactly pulled up many trees since joining West Brom two years ago. He spent pretty much all of last season injured, appearing just six times across all competitions. The former Tottenham attacker also picked up an injury in the third-place play-off win against England, and considering his injury record as of late, it could be another setback for the 28-year-old. Chadli would also have to make the controversial move from Wolves’ bitter rivals West Brom, and it is just very hard to see Nuno Espirito Santo pick up a player who was not only relegated last term, but also barely played. Chadli’s World Cup performances would surely have helped Albion sell him this summer, but not to Wolves. Nuno just does not need him.
