Attacker Scott Tiffoney has rejected a new deal at Greenock Morton and has headed to Nottingham Forest for a trial, according to the Daily Record.

The newspaper claimed on their live transfer blog on Monday [04:38pm] that Tiffoney, 19, has quit the Scottish Championship club as he is keen to move on and continue his career elsewhere.

It is understood that he has now joined Forest on a trial basis following an impressive season with Morton in 2017/18.

OPINION

Tiffoney was very much a key player for Morton last season, appearing 37 times for them across all competitions while scoring three goals and supplying eight assists in the process. The 19-year-old also proved his versatility by playing in a number of attacking midfield positions, on both wings and even up front. He is now a free agent after his deal at Morton expired and Forest look as though they want a good look at him before making a final decision. As Tiffoney is available for free and already has a good deal of senior experience under his belt, the chances are that he will be offered the chance to join the East Midlands giants. The attacker even got the taste of playing against Celtic last season when Morton met the champions in the Scottish Cup quarter-finals. He would be a good prospect for the future if they were to sign him up.
