Leeds midfielder Ronaldo Vieira is set for a shock exit to Sampdoria in a £6.2million (€7million) deal, according to Sky Sports Italy and Gianluca Di Marzio.
The surprise news was broken on the official Sky Sports Twitter page on Monday morning and was followed up by a report from Di Marzio.
The Sky tweet translates as “Sampdoria took Ronaldo Vieira from Leeds – the midfielder cost €7million.”

Good move for Leeds?
£7million is a lot of money but we’re still convinced that Vieira could come good at Leeds and go on to be a future star of the game. He hasn’t been brilliant in pre-season but he always promised that there was a top quality player in there. Can Leeds re-invest this money before the end of the summer transfer window? If they can then this could prove to be a great deal and Leeds fans are going to have to trust that Bielsa knows what he’s doing with this one. A lot of Leeds fans are going to be pretty upset if the deal does go through, however.

Likely to happen?
With Sky Sports and Di Marzio saying this is imminent, it looks like Vieira will not be a Leeds player come the start of the season. It’s been an action packed 48 hours at Leeds, with Barry Douglas joining, Patrick Bamford signing, Jack Harrison potentially arriving from Man City and now this. Leeds fans can expect a lot more to come this week as well, ahead of the Championship season.
