A section of Rangers fans have been reacting on Twitter after former Celtic striker Chris Sutton claimed that the Gers are in the hunt to sign Motherwell’s Chris Cadden.

During BT Sport’s live coverage of the Steelmen’s win against Clyde on Saturday afternoon, Sutton claimed that he has sources that are telling him the Light Blues are “having a good look” at the Scotland international, who was in impressive form last season.

The 21-year-old scored four goals and supplied nine assists in 45 appearances across all competitions for Motherwell while playing in an array of different positions from right-back, right-wing and central midfield.

However some Rangers fans are refusing to believe that Celtic-mad Sutton would have sources at Ibrox and do not believe that anything will come of this link.

This is Futbol has rounded up some of the best tweets:

OPINION

Most of these Rangers fans are right. It’s hard to see how Sutton would have an inside scoop on anything that is going on within the walls of Ibrox unless he has heard it from someone at the Motherwell end. And given the amount of anti-Rangers stuff that Sutton has said in the past, then it’s fair enough if the fans do not want to believe it. Cadden is a decent player for Motherwell, but he probably is not good enough for the Light Blues. Maybe he will improve in the coming years as he is only 21-years-old, but given the claims that he is a Celtic fan, a move to Ibrox may never happen.
