Wolves’ attacking options are in serious need of a re-vamp if they are to pose a genuine threat going forward next season, and boss Nuno Espirito Santo needs to consider potential candidates quickly.

They look likely to be landing Manchester City’s Oleksandr Zinchenko according to Sky Sports, but there is another option that Nuno could look at.

That player is Arsenal winger Alex Iwobi – and Wolves should sign the 22-year-old in order to transform the side’s attacking options for the upcoming Premier League campaign.

Iwobi is still young and developing as a player, but he needs more regular game time to enhance his talent, as it is not definite that he is a part of new manager Unai Emery’s plans.

The left-sided flyer was selected to represent Nigeria at this summer’s World Cup, and was evidently one of their stand-out players as they dramatically crashed out at the group stages.

The Nigerian international is touted as being a versatile player, and he would be able to play as a wing-back as well as in midfield for Wolves if he made the move.

Iwobi’s initial talent is there for everyone to see at the top-six club, but a move away from the Emirates looks to be the best move for him at this stage in his career in order to develop the ability he already possesses – and a newly-promoted club like Wolves is the perfect destination for him.

Fans want their club to sign a player who is capable of getting them off their seats, and Iwobi would definitely do that at the Molineux with his versatile style of play and ability to score goals.

He could replace either Barry Douglas or Matt Doherty in the wing-back spots, but can easily slot into the front three if that was preferred by the manager – and they should make a move for him to expand the current attacking options.
