Manchester United defender Marcos Rojo has not travelled on the club’s USA tour with Wolves in the hunt for his signature, according to ESPN FC.

The news outlet claimed on their website that the defender had been on holiday after World Cup duty for Argentina but will not be meeting up with Jose Mourinho’s squad in LA as his future is in major doubt.

Premier League new boys Wolves are currently in signing Rojo, with The Telegraph claiming the big spenders are ready to splash out £25million to land his signature.

With United likely to bid for centre-backs Harry Maguire and Toby Alderweireld, two major targets on their transfer list, it looks like Rojo’s four-year spell at the club is reaching its conclusion.

Good move for Wolves?

Marcos Rojo’s time at Man United has been difficult, being unwanted by former boss Louis van Gaal and failing to maintain a regular spot in the first team.

A move to Molineux should guarantee more minutes on the pitch and he can offer Wolves a lot of experience, with 59 caps for Argentina.

With Wolves on a summer splurge for new players, Rojo would be a suitable transfer as they look to begin a new journey in the top flight.

Likely to happen?

Rojo has not flown out to LA for United’s USA tour, clearly indicating he is unlikely to remain with the club this season.

His position is uncertain with Mourinho keen to bolster his defence with new signings, leaving Rojo out of the frame.

The Argentine looks destined for a move away and, after 12 appearances in all competitions last year, will be desperate to seek more game time instead of sitting on the United bench.
