Tottenham Hotspur are keeping close tabs on Troyes goalkeeper Yehvann Diouf ahead of a potential transfer swoop, according to France Football.

The reliable French outlet claim that Spurs have been scouting the 19-year-old, who only has a year left on his contract with his current club.

The shot stopper is currently representing his country at the Under-19 European Championships in Finland.

The six foot tall (source: Transfermarkt) goalkeeper has yet to make an appearance in senior football and has represented France at under-19 and under-18 level.

Good signing for Tottenham?

Could be.

With first-choice goalkeeper Hugo Lloris not getting any younger, it makes sense for Tottenham to be looking at a young understudy who can learn from the Frenchman, with a view to replacing him in the future.

Backup goalkeeper Michel Vorm has never looked completely convincing when he’s played, so why not have a younger goalkeeper as a backup instead?

Spurs scouts will seemingly run the role over him at the Under-19 Euro Championships and decide if he is good enough to represent the North London club.

Likely to happen?

Not sure.

With just a year left on his contract with French club Troyes, the 19-year-old wouldn’t command a huge fee to buy and personal terms shouldn’t be an issue, so in that respect, the transfer would be very easy to do.

However, it all depends on the Frenchman’s performances in this youth tournament. Is he a good shot-stopper? Is he good with his feet? Is he confident coming out and claiming crosses?

These are the things that the Spurs scouts will be looking to confirm, it all depends on their take on the goalkeeper.
