Newcastle fans have been reflecting on the news that Fulham have agreed a £20million fee with the Magpies for the sale of Aleksandar Mitrovic.
The two sides have been working on a deal all summer, following the Serbian’s terrific loan spell with the Cottagers in the second half of last season.
The 23-year-old scored 12 times in 20 games for Fulham, as he helped lead the London club back to the Premier League via the Play Offs.
The Newcastle support seems to be split on the decision to let Mitrovic leave. This is Futbol has picked out some of the finest responses.

OPINION
The split in opinion on this deal amongst Newcastle fans is indicative of the Aleksandar Mitrovic experience on Tyneside. Despite arriving with much fanfare and showing flashes of real potential, it never clicked into place for the Serbian at St James’s Park. Contrast that with his excellent form at Fulham, or his effective displays for his country at the World Cup, and you can see why his exit makes sense. He didn’t seem to feature in Rafael Benitez’s plans so for Newcastle to get £20million for him is good business. Whether the Spaniard will be allowed to reinvest that money in the squad remains to be seen, but Magpies fans will be hoping Mitrovic’s departure heralds the signing of a Danny Ings or Salomon Rondon to fill the 23-year-old’s boots.
