Liverpool fans have delivered mainly positive reactions on Twitter after the club announced that striker Mo Salah had signed a new five-year contract.
The Egyptian forward’s new contract ties him down at the club until 2023, and reportedly, according to journalist Melissa Ruddy, contains no release clause in order to ward off the likes of Barcelona, who were said to be interested in his signing him.

OPINION
The news of Salah signing a new contract at Anfield that keeps him at the club until 2023 seems to have gone down rather well with the Liverpool fans. In particular, the news that there is no release clause in his contract is the aspect that the supporters are the most excited about. However, Suarez and Coutinho had no release clauses in their contracts, and they both eventually wanted out and were sold. They will be hoping that history does not repeat itself with Salah, as he is the main talisman behind their achievements and is one of their best chances of challenging for the title next season. For now, fans live in the comfort that he is most likely staying at the club for another five years.
