Arsenal manager Unai Emery will listen to offers for seven first-team players this summer, according to Goal.

The outlet claims that the new boss wants to bring in another two players before the transfer window closes but he must offload players before he can bring in any more additions.

The report reveals that the club are willing to listen to offers for first-team players Petr Cech, David Ospina, Nacho Monreal, Shkodran Mustafi, Danny Welbeck, Lucas Perez and Carl Jenkinson this summer.

It is understood that Emery had used up his £70million transfer budget this summer with the signings of Sokratis Papastathopoulos, Stephan Lichtsteiner, Bernd Leno, Lucas Torreira and Matteo Guendouzi.

OPINION

This might seem like a rash decision by new Gunners manager Unai Emery but it’s clear that the squad needs refreshing, so why keep players who aren’t going to play? The signings of Sokratis Papastathopoulos, Stephan Lichtsteiner, Bernd Leno, Lucas Torreira and Matteo Guendouzi signal a real change in tact from Emery ahead of next season, as they look to challenge for the Premier League once again. It’s becoming clear, after just a single window of transfer business, that most of former manager Arsene Wenger’s signings just aren’t good enough at this level and must be moved on. This is a positive move that will ultimately benefit the club moving forward, fans especially won’t miss the likes of David Ospina, Shkodran Mustafi and Carl Jenkinson, after failing to put in performances anywhere near the level that is expected at The Emirates. However, the likes of Petr Chech and Nacho Monreal have been two of the most consistent players over the last few years but are clearly not in Emery’s plans.
