A section of Leeds United fans have been left raging after it was reported that the club has made Kasimpasa forward Mbaye Diagne one of their top targets for the summer transfer window.
The Mirror reported via their live transfer blog on Tuesdsay [11:22pm] that Leeds have missed out on the likes of Abel Hernandez, Matej Vydra, Britt Assombalonga and Jonathan Kodjia and have turned their attention to £1.5million-rated Diagne, who has scored 12 goals in 17 appearances since joining Kasimpasa in January.
However some Leeds fans have been left thoroughly underwhelmed by the club’s decision to eye up the Senegalese powerhouse after failing in the hunt to sign four proven Championship forwards.
One claimed that “another joke season” is coming to Elland Road.

Not keen on this new striker interest for #LUFC Mbaye Diagne, he moves around a lot and do we really want someone short term or just long enough to get us back up?

OPINION
You can understand the concerns of these Leeds fans. While Diagne had a good record with Kasimpasa in the second-half of last season and is reportedly available for as cheap as £1.5million, he is nowhere near as good as the four proven Championship goalscorers that United have missed out on. Leeds tried and failed with cheap players from Europe last season, so repeating them mistakes would be ridiculous. Have fans been sold a lie just to sell season tickets after a poor campaign last time out? Hiring Marcelo Bielsa is obviously a masterstroke by Andrea Radrizzani and Victor Orta, but they need to back that up with solid signings.
