West Brom fans witnessed a pre-season rollercoaster ride at Barnsley, but many West Brom fans were angered by a poor display from 30-year-old right-back Allan Nyom.
Barnsley went 2-0 up against a strong West Brom side in front of their own fans, scoring in the 6th and 11th minutes.
Shambolic defending made West Brom fans fear it was going to be a long night, but Hal Robson-Kanu struck with the last touch of the first-half to bring West Brom back into it.
James Morrison scored shortly after the second half started and an own goal from Dimitri Cavare put West Brom 3-2 up, and that’s how the match ended.
Nyom didn’t inspire any confidence at the back though, despite the win, and fans flocked onto Twitter to berate him.

OPINION
West Brom went on to win the game but it was ugly at the back, with Nyom being the culprit on a number of occasions in the first half. West Brom are second favourites to win the Championship next season but they’ll need to tighten up on tonight’s performance. One fan said Nyom was a liability, while another said that he’d somehow got worse since last season. Many fans are saying that West Brom need two or three signings before the season starts and one position Darren Moore should look at closely is right-back. Lots of West Brom fans are hoping Nyom doesn’t start there next season.
