A section of West Ham fans have taken to Twitter to express their dissatisfaction that the club’s lengthy pursuit of Felipe Anderson is on the reported brink of collapse.

Ex-WHU Employee, who is a very reliable source of Hammers news, has claimed in an update on his personal Twitter account that the Premier League club are “losing patience” following protracted negotiations with Lazio for the forward.

He explained West Ham are likely to move on to alternative targets if the Serie A club do not change their stance on Anderson after setting the asking price at around £35million.

Irons have responded to the update by urging the club to concentrate on alternative targets and This Is Futbol has rounded up some of the best tweets:

OPINION

There appears a grudging acceptance among the Hammers fan base that the club should move on and pursue alternative targets rather than sit and wait for Lazio to budge on their asking price for Anderson. Certainly, there has been excitement at the pursuit of the Brazil international in recent weeks, give his matchwinning capabilities and his track record over the last five years in Serie A. But there is also frustration among supporters that the Italian club have moved the goalposts on a number of occasions during negotiations and a solution has not been found. Irons want a top-notch forward, but not at all costs.
