Marcus Edwards will reportedly seek a Tottenham exit this summer – and the club’s supporters on Twitter have ripped into him and feel he has been unable to live up to expectation during his time with them.

The Guardian claims that the 19-year-old has accepted he is unlikely to make a senior breakthrough anytime soon and will try to force a move away from Spurs.

He has been one of the most highly-rated youngsters at the North London clubs in recent years and has been expected to make a first-team impact.

However, the report details that Spurs can’t see him breaking into Mauricio Pochettino’s senior set-up in the near future and the player is keen for regular action after featuring just once in the club’s first team.

Edwards is a versatile attacker that can play anywhere across the frontline and is renowned for his brilliant trickery.

The skillster has represented England’s national side right up to Under-20s level and has been tipped to be Spurs’ next breakout star following in the shoes of Harry Kane and Harry Winks.

He was sent out on loan to Championship outfit Norwich City in the second half of the 2017/18 season and managed just one senior appearance.

Spurs fans on social media have delivered a harsh treatment on the teenager and ultimately feel he hasn’t done enough to deserve a serious first-team opportunity.
