Liverpool are reportedly in the hunt to sign Stoke City attacker Xherdan Shaqiri – and the club’s supporters on Twitter have given a huge thumbs up to a potential deal.
The Daily Mirror claims that the Merseyside club have made an enquiry to sign the 26-year-old winger and feel he could help improve the squad for next season.
It is understood they can pick him up for just £12million after Stoke’s Premier League relegation, but are in direct competition with Everton and Roma for him.
Liverpool have made an approach to sign the left-footed magician, who was unable to keep Stoke in the top flight despite eight goals and seven assists this season.
Shaqiri is now available to pick up for a bargain price due to his relegation clause and fans are convinced there is a place for him at Anfield.
He is likely to represent Switzerland at this summer’s World Cup in Russia and has 20 goals in 68 appearances for his nation.
The fleet-footed wide man is renowned for his technical ability and is also a set-piece specialist who possesses great shot power.
Manager Jurgen Klopp had very few game changing options in his Liverpool squad beyond his starting XI this season and fans on social media feel that Stoke’s Shaqiri would help solve that problem.
