Nottingham Forest could end up signing midfielder Nikola Vukcevic from Portuguese side Braga as early as next week, according to A Bola.

The Portuguese news outlet claims that the 26-year-old could be the latest arrival at the City Ground this summer courtesy of agent Jorge Mendes.

It is understood that Mendes has suggest Forest as a possible destination for the Montenegro international and they are now his likely destination, with a move mooted by next week.

Aitor Karanka’s side have already been active in this summer transfer window by adding Joao Carvalho and Diogo Goncalves from Portuguese giants Benfica.

Good move for Forest?

Vukcevic was a mainstay in the Braga starting XI last season as they finished fourth in the top flight in Portugal, something that highlights what a solid capture he would be for a team in the English Championship.

The combative central midfielder usually operates as a defensive midfielder anchoring the back four and would prove to be a major hit if he ends up at the City Ground.

He would break into the Reds side next term and is a technically gifted player that is composed in possession.

Vukcevic is a player that has a wealth of experience in the Europa League too and is the type of high-profile signing that will massively improve the Forest squad in general.
