Everton are reportedly in the hunt to sign Ajax playmaker Hakim Ziyech this summer – and a deal to sign the 25-year-old would be an absolute masterstroke by director of football Marcel Brands.

Italian news outlet Calcio Mercato has claimed that Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund are also hot on the heels of Ziyech, whose agent is understood to have been doing the rounds in England and Italy recently.

Everton are also said to be showing an interest in the exciting Morocco international after a stunning season at the Johan Cruyff Arena.

The former Twente and Heerenveen midfielder scored nine goals and supplied 18 assists in 39 appearances across all competitions for Dutch giants Ajax as they finished second in the Eredivisie.

His ability to get the fans off their seats with this mesmerising technical talents has made him a real favourite at the Amsterdam club, and it would be a brilliant signing if Brands was to get him in this summer.

Davy Klaassen may have flopped at Goodison Park since making his move from Ajax last year, however Ziyech is a totally different kind of beast.

He plays in the forward area, behind a striker, and is always involved in any kind of attacking play.

The 25-year-old knows how to score goals and can also play out on the right wing if needed as Marco Silva will no doubt want some extra cover to his winger options this summer.

If former PSV chief Brands can pull off a deal to sign Ziyech this summer, fans will see first-hand just how a bad a job Steve Walsh did at Goodison to overlook the Moroccan in favour of Klaassen.
