Liverpool are in hot pursuit of Ajax assist king Hakim Ziyech, but are yet to make an official offer for the Morocco international, according to Calcio Mercato.

The Italian news outlet claims that the 25-year-old’s agent has recently been in England and Italy, in what could be an effort to find a new club for his client after a stellar season at the Johan Cruyff Arena.

The dazzling attacker, who is known for his exciting technical talents, scored nine goals and supplied an incredible 18 assists in 39 appearances across all competitions for Ajax last season and is a clear fan favourite among the supporters of the Amsterdam giants.

Good move for Liverpool?

Ziyech is a very exciting talent and would definitely make for a good addition at Anfield.

He is the sort of player who can get fans off their seats thanks to his no-fear play and ability to run at defenders.

Should Jurgen Klopp move for him though? Given that the deal to sign Nabil Fekir seems to have broken down, Ziyech would be a solid second-choice, but he is not as good as the Lyon ace.

That’s not to say that Ziyech wouldn’t be a good signing for the Reds, in fact signing him could be an absolute masterstroke by Klopp.

Likely to happen?

Liverpool only appear to be interested in Ziyech at the moment and have not made any sort of concrete effort to sign him up this summer.

With the World Cup in progress and Ziyech’s Morocco taking part, any move for him would have to wait until the end of the month or later.

Could the 25-year-old ditch Ajax for Liverpool this summer? Maybe. But at the moment it doesn’t seem all that likely.
