West Ham and Burnley are in hot pursuit of Amiens centre-forward Moussa Konate, according to France Football.

The French news outlet claims that Amiens would demand a fee of no less than £13.2million for Konate, 25, after an impressive debut season in Ligue 1.

The genius Senegal international, who helped his nation win their World Cup opener against Poland on Tuesday, is also understood to be tracked by a club from Saudi Arabia.

Good move for West Ham?

Konate proved himself to be a good finisher in front of goal last season.

He scored 13 goals in 33 appearances across all competitions for Amiens after joining them from Swiss side Sion last summer.

Although he has a decent goalscoring record, he probably would not make a good addition for West Ham.

France Football claims that Konate is a “mobile” and “clever” forward, but if he is not banging in around 20 goals in France, then he probably is not going to be a decent addition for the Hammers – especially at over £13million.

Likely to happen?

It all seems a bit too soon to say for sure where Konate will end up playing next season.

Senegal’s opening World Cup win against Poland took a lot of people by surprise and the chance that Konate and his team-mates could go further than expected in Russia may see interest in him intensify.

He did not score in the 2-1 win over Poland, but with Japan and Colombia not looking great too in Group H, there’s a chance that he could get himself on the scoresheet at least once to gain more attention from clubs other than West Ham.
