Leeds United fans have taken to Twitter to drool over the idea of signing AZ Alkmaar forward Wout Werghorst this summer.
Weghorst, 25, was in stunning form in the Netherlands last season for AZ, scoring 27 goals in 37 appearances across all competitions as he helped his side finish third in the Eredivise table, above what were then reigning champions Feyenoord, and reach the Dutch Cup final.
After hiring Marcelo Bielsa as manager, Leeds fans have been giddy with excitement about what sort of players that could now be attracted to Elland Road this summer.
Among some of the forwards linked with the Yorkshire giants are Derby’s Matej Vydra and free agent Abel Hernandez.
However Leeds supporters also believe that Weghorst would make a stunning addition to the side in the current transfer window.
One excited fan said “what a signing he would be”, if Leeds could get a deal done.
Here is a selection of their tweets:

Weghorst looks unreal but I don’t think there’s any concrete rumours that we’re after him #lufc

Fits the Bielsa CF mould, big lad who can put himself about on the pitch, good player but will cost a bomb!

Weghorst stands at 6ft 5in tall according to transfermarkt, and it would appear that the bulk of his goals come from the air.
He would certainly fit the mould of someone like Pierre-Michel Lasogga, who has returned to Germany after a poor loan spell at Elland Road last season.
Lasogga’s exit means that the Whites are short of options up front, and are surely expected to complete the signing of someone to spearhead their attack soon now that Bielsa has agreed to take charge.
