Leeds United fans have been drooling over the prospect of signing Derby forward Matej Vydra this summer after it was reported that the Yorkshire giants are in the hunt to sign the Czech Republic international.
The Yorkshire Evening Post reported on Sunday that Leeds have made contact with Derby over the potential blockbuster signing of Vydra, 26, this summer, and the Whites feel as though a deal is achievable – even though the former Watford striker is valued at £10million.
Vydra was on fire in front of goal last season, scoring 22 goals in 44 appearances across all competitions.
He has made a name for himself as being prolific in the Championship, and Leeds United fans are in meltdown over the idea of them potentially signing him this summer.
One fan claimed it would be an “unreal signing”.
Here is a selection of their tweets:
The fact we’re being linked with players like vydra this season as opposed to Ekuban and Grot shows the difference in approach! Radz has learnt his lesson it seems! #lufc

We're looking at far too many decent players Phil, sick of it.

It is understood that Leeds remain locked in advanced talks with former Hull forward Abel Hernandez too, but are not likely to make any signings until a new manager is hired.
Marcelo Bielsa has been widely reported to have been in talks with the Championship club, but their pre-season kicks off in just two weeks and there are yet to be any massive developments in Leeds’ search for Paul Heckingbottom’s replacement.
