Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is surely going to be looking out for a new goalkeeper this summer with a recent report claiming that the Merseyside club is in the hunt to sign Bayer Leverkusen’s Bernd Leno.

German newspaper BILD has claimed that Liverpool, Arsenal and Atletico Madrid are interested in snapping up Leno, 26, this summer, however it is understood that a decision will be made in the coming days about his future with him due to jet out to Russia as part of the German World Cup squad.

Leno, who stands at 6ft 2in tall according to transfermarkt, has been one of the top goalkeepers in the Bundesliga over the last few years, and any deal to sign him up and make him a Liverpool player this summer would be an absolute masterstroke by Klopp.

The Bayer Leverkusen giant has been the thorn in the side of many top strikers in Germany.

He kept 12 clean sheets in 38 appearances across all competitions last season and helped his side keep a better defensive record in the Bundesliga that the likes of Borussia Dortmund, Hoffenheim and RB Leipzig.

£22million would be an absolute steal too for a goalkeeper who is just reaching the peak of his career and as it is a position that Liverpool really need to strengthen, Klopp must look to make a bid as soon as possible before the World Cup starts.
