Leeds goalkeeper Felix Wiedwald is in line to exit Elland Road this summer with German outfit Eintracht Frankfurt the possible destination, as confirmed by a tweet from the club’s official Twitter account.
Frankfurt’s director of football Bruno Hubner has admitted that the club are interested in bringing in the 28-year-old, but all they can do is wait.
“It is correct that we deal with a return action by Felix Wiedwald. However, we cannot report anything but a fix and we have to wait a little bit more,” Hubner said.

Wiedwald is currently third-choice keeper at Leeds, with Bailey-Peacock Farrell currently keeping hold of a place in the starting line-up – but Frankfurt are offering him a way out in a chance to return back to home soil.
OPINION
Being a third-choice keeper at a second-tier side is not what any player would want to experience, so it is no wonder Wiedwald is unhappy at Elland Road. He will hardly get a look in under new boss Bielsa, with Peacock-Farrell almost certain to retain his place between the sticks come the start of the new Championship season. The German will feel a lot more comfortable playing on home soil where he is guaranteed to play more regularly, and where he will feel a lot more appreciated by his club. He has had bad luck so far in his playing career after being replaced at Werder Bremen and then by Leeds, so it is a chance for a fresh start for a goalkeeper who has had an eventful time in football. If the move to Frankfurt goes through, then playing regular football may just help him unlock his potential to be a talented goalkeeper.
