Celtic can start their preparation for this year’s Champions League qualification, as UEFA have confirmed the six potential teams the Hoops could face.

The Daily Record reveals that Celtic are awaiting the draw on Tuesday, but could face any of the following teams: Spartak Trnava (Slovakia), Valletta (Malta), Alashkert (Armenia), Sutjeska (Montenegro), Spartaks Jurmala (Latvia) or Flora Tallinn (Estonia).

Celtic fans will be licking their lips with those teams, as the Hoops will be heavily favoured to once again return progress through European competition.

OPINION

Celtic will be eagerly awaiting Tuesday’s draw for the Champions League qualifiers, and barring an absolute disaster, the Hoops should cruise past any of the above-listed teams. The player’s at Brendan Rodgers disposal should be more than enough to easily cope with these teams, many of whom are severely inexperienced at the European level. As the Daily Record mention, Spartak Trnava broke the hearts of St Johnstone fans in their Europa League qualifiers a few years back, but it is unlikely the Bhoys will tread on the same banana skin. One potential headache could be that Rodgers has a few of his Celtic stars playing in the World Cup in Russia, and should any of those teams progress to the latter stages of the tournament they might not be available or fit for the crucial Champions League qualifying matches. This is where the depth of Rodgers squad will be tested, as the fans certainly demand Champions League football at the Parkhead. Eager fans can tune in on Tuesday as the draw takes place live in Nyon, to see who the Hoops will face.
