The right-sided flyer, who can also play in a more forward position, began last season in sensational form under previous manager Pedro Caixinha as it looked as though he might finally become a mainstay in the Light Blues first XI following his move from St Johnstone in 2016.
But a knee injury scuppered his progression in the side and from that point onwards he struggled he struggled to reach the high standards he had set earlier on in the campaign – and that’s not to mention the fact that he was spotted sitting with Celtic supporters at Hampden Park which did not go unmentioned by the Gers faithful.
The 27-year-old made a total of 16 appearances for Rangers last term, scoring five goals in that time.
O’Halloran’s exit is Steven Gerrard’s latest decision on the transfer front as the Liverpool legend continues his overhaul of the squad.
Here is a selection of Twitter responses from supporters who were joyous on social media after hearing the news of the player’s departure:

Make sure when you're getting on the plane you don't accidentally end up sitting in the Celtic end at Hampden.
