Tottenham fans have been reacting on Twitter after it was reported that the club has opened formal negotiations over the signing of Amiens midfielder Tanguy Ndombele.
French newspaper L’Equipe has claimed that Spurs are hoping to sign the France Under-21 international as a replacement for Mousa Dembele, who is about to enter the final year of his contract in North London and could be on his way out of the club to avoid losing him for free next summer.
It is understood that Daniel Levy is now ready to step up Spurs’ pursuit of Ndombele, 21, and that the Premier League club could launch a bid worth £34.9million.
Ndombele spend last season on loan at Ligue 1 giants Lyon and has clearly impressed enough to attract interest from Tottenham.
The interest has prompted a mixed response from fans, as it is clear that some of them have never heard of the midfield ace, while others are excited about the prospect of signing him.
One fan even claimed that “he’s the one”.
Here is a selection of their tweets:

Is there any way we can offer Sissoko plus money? He's a French international, you know. Really hope any deal to bring this guy, or Fekir would involve shipping Sissoko off. Agree with sentiments above to include Sissoko in any deal.

Ndombele made 47 appearances across all competitions while he was on loan at Lyon last season.
In those games, he scored one goal, which came against Villarreal in the Europa League, and supplied eight assists for the Ligue 1 giants.
