Injury-stricken Celtic target Moses Odubajo has confirmed that he is once again at peak fitness ahead of a potential move to Parkhead this.

The defender, who according to the Scottish Sun has been in talks with Brendan Rodgers this summer, has spent two years on the sidelines recovering from a horrific knee injury sustained in a pre-season friendly.

Yet now, the exit-bound Hull City man has been pictured with the Celtic bosses in Austria, as the Hoops continue their preparations for the season.

Following this news and the subsequent speculation of an imminent transfer, Odubajo was quick to play down speculation linking him to the Hoops when he was asked.

“I can’t confirm anything at the moment. I can confirm I’m fit, but not where I’m going,” the 24-year-old said, as quoted by the Scottish Sun.

“It’s been a long time. But I’m ready to play and the main thing is getting my career going again.”

Celtic would be able to secure the former England under-21 international on a free transfer, as his Hull City contract is due to expire at the end of this month.

OPINION

Odubajo is playing his cards very close to his chest on this one, yet I still think a deal will be finalised in the coming days. The injury-prone defender represents a rare opportunity for Brendan Rodgers to secure a young eager talent, who is now fully fit after taking the correct precautions. Odubajo himself is keen on the switch, as it will come as a step up for his career, being able to play for the loyal Hoops fanbase at Celtic Park. Whether or not the 24-year-old will be able to secure a starting role for Rodgers will remain to be seen, as he has been out of regular football for over two years now. This could be a hindering factor for the player, but a few good performances will go a long way to boost his confidence, which in turn could be all the 24-year-old needs. Rodgers could be looking to use the pre-season as a means to secure some team chemistry, as the Hoops embark on their torrid Champions League qualification campaign next month. This also could be a key factor in Odubajo wanting to play at Celtic, as silverware and European competition are always are the corner.
