Wolverhampton Wanderers want to swoop for centre-forward Andrea Favilli from Juventus, according to Gianluca di Marzio.

The reliable Sky Sports journalist, who is one of the most reputed names in football reporting, especially when it comes to transfers, reports on his website that despite the 21-year-old only signing for Juventus in January this year, well-known agent Jorge Mendes – who has links to Wolves – has enquired about the young Italian, with the Serie A outfit willing to listen to offers in the region of £17.7 million.

The striker has scored eight goals in 14 appearances during the 2017/2018 campaign, and moved to the Italian giants earlier this year from Serie B outfit Ascoli, for a price of £6.75 million.

Good move for Wolves?

Yes, possibly. The youngster spent the second half of last season on loan at Ascoli, and only made 14 appearances in all competitions for the second tier side.

Juventus signed him, but he has not had the chance to prove himself there as yet, so Wolves are enquiring about a player who has not really proved himself.

Eight goals in 14 matches is a promising statisitic for the young attacker, and it may prove a risk to bring him to the Molineux having not seen his full credentials.

Likely to happen?

Not at the moment, no. Jorge Mendes has only enquired to Juventus about a potential move for the player, so no talks have officially happened yet.

It may also depend on whether Favilli wants to prove himself in the Italian top-flight with a club who could offer him the opportunity of Champions League football, or move to a newly-promoted club and prove himself in the Premier League.

The move could rest on what the player decides to do.
