West Ham must shove Premier League rivals Burnley aside in the transfer window as they come face to face with their Premier League rivals in the pursuit of Senegal international Moussa Konate, as is being reported by France Football.

Both Manuel Pellegrini and Sean Dyche would like the Amiens hitman, who has proved during his first season in the French top-flight that he is more than just a flat track bully.

The 25-year-old forward moved to the Northern French outfit only last summer from Swiss side FC Sion and impressed with the Ligue 1 by scoring 13 goals in 33 games and showed that he is no fluke as he bagged a brace against title-winners, Paris Saint-Germain back in May.

With Andy Carroll unlikely to play a major role in the side ahead of the new campaign, as it goes without saying he will spend a period of time sidelined through injury, judging by his shocking injury record, and Javier Hernandez reportedly unhappy at his lack of first-team opportunities (source: The Mirror), the Hammers need to address their goalscoring capabilities.

And the 6ft (source: Transfermarkt), physically dominating presence the forward can offer will be a welcomed acquisition at the London Stadium.

The Hammers have already added Ryan Frederick’s Fulham to the squad but have also signed Issa Diop and Lukasz Fabianski in the last 24 hours in a bid to strengthen their line up for the next campaign.

With the arrival of Konate at the East Londoners, we imagine that West Ham will be a real threat and they must do all they can to ensure it is them and not Burnley that capture the 25-year-old.
