While there will be many Tottenham fans hoping to see some serious spending in the transfer window this summer, there will always be a place in their hearts for some homegrown talent.

Over the past couple of years, the Lilywhites have established themselves as a club which has developed some of the brightest English talents of the current generation, with the likes of Harry Kane, Dele Alli, Danny Rose and most recently Harry Winks all growing phenomenally under Mauricio Pochettino to star for club and country.

Of course, not every youngster will be able to make the step up from youth football to the first team, and it looks as though there are going to be a number of disappointed faces this summer.

Football.London claim that Pochettino is planning a huge cull of up to eight players who spent the last season out on loan, which includes a handful of youngsters, and that there could be just two names who survive.

The duo are Josh Onomah and Cameron Carter-Vickers, and with the duo having dazzled out at Aston Villa and Sheffield United as well as Ipswich respectively, it is stated the duo could be in for some first team action this summer.

With many of the club’s senior stars away on international duty, Pochettino will no doubt have space in his squad for the pair, who were both given glowing reviews by their loan sides, and the Argentine boss will be eager to see if they are ready to make the grade.

This could well be the make-or-break moment for the fringe duo, for it will likely determine whether they are kept on for next season or sent out on another temporary deal, further hindering their chances of ever breaking into the first team.

The summer will be massive for much of the Spurs squad at the World Cup, but back in north London, it is shaping up to be just as big for this pair.
